Questions from Chapter 12
- “Always be ready to pray, always be ready to preach, and always be ready to die.” How does that statement from John Wesley inspire you?
- In suffering, the author was drawn to Lamentations 3, the book of Job, the cross, and Psalms. How about you? What portions of Scripture have been helpful to you in suffering?
As a Christians I have always be willing to pray, preach but dying was something that I had to wrap my mind around. Surely, I understand that 1 day I will have to leave this earth but being ready to die doesn’t mean that I will be 99 years old with my family around me, willing to accept the will of God because I have lived a full and blessed life. No, being ready means at any given moment even for loving Jesus. This statement from John Wesley really made me reflect and examine myself. I had to ask myself would I be ready and willing in the most extreme scenario. This is a heavy statement!!!
